RES (Reading Extinguisher Services) was established in 1985 and as a British Standards institute registered firm with a quality management system to BS EN ISO 9001 has expanded and grown from that day developing into new fire protection areas after starting RES Systems Limited in 2001. From 2013, RES was merged into RES Systems Ltd trading as RES.

Our Commitment

Our commitment to customer service and maintaining a high quality of work was reaffirmed in March 2008 by the extension of the RES Quality Management System to our Systems business achieving registered status to all our activities.

RES covers the South, South East, London and Central England. National coverage can be provided. Our customer base ranges from residential properties, small and medium businesses, multinational companies, Hospital trusts, Independent schools to LEA schools, colleges and councils.

RES is a growing success and takes every step to guarantee our customers are fully covered by ensuring our engineers are fully trained and qualified to meet the latest standards and guidance released by enforcing authorities.

RES prides itself on continually striving to make complying with British Standards as straight forward and practical as possible for all of our customers needs whilst minimising costs. We pride ourselves on being able to develop fire safety solutions for our customers from start to finish.

RES Systems Ltd

RES Systems continues to develop and grow to meet the requirements of our clients.

From servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems, RES Systems now maintains emergency lighting and designs, installs and commissions fire alarm systems through our own in house engineer team.

Our fire door maintenance services have expanded into new fire door installations and large upgrading works to meet the latest requirements of guidance documents and fire risk assessment reports.

Qualified Professional Service

RES are BSI, BAFE and FIA registered. Our engineers are DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) cleared. Servicing and maintenance works are carried out to the highest standard and together with our equipment location lists and advisory service to current British Standards, we continually offer you a premium service at a competitive price.

We take on responsibility for your portable fire protection equipment giving you peace of mind that your premises is properly protected as well as being able to provide staff training and fire safety signage services.

RES aims to maintain a qualified professional service at all times with our fully trained team ensuring total customer satisfaction.

Who's Who

RES is comprised of a highly trained, highly skilled and experienced team of committed individuals.

Our office team is led by Kate Freeman-Wilson (Office Manager) with Denise Lynch (Deputy Office Manager), Jess Knight (Accounts), Lisa Oakham and Sam Boorne (office administration). Richard Lawrence is responsible for marketing and business development.

Our engineers are headed by Mark Smith (Service Manager) and supported by John Day (Sales Manager).

Our BAFE registered extinguisher technicians are led by Damian Lynch are Chris Dormer, Oliver Selvey, and Matthew Woodward. They are supported by John Day and dual engineers Mark Froude (Fire Hydrants), and Johnny Adey.

Our fire detection and alarm system engineers are Nick Wilson, Jamie Froude, Mark Froude, and Johnny Adey (Fire safety signage specialist and client manager).

Our installation team is led by Will Grice (Installation Manager) supported by Jon Toomey (Technical Director) with engineers Andy Lowe (Minor works and Emergency lighting specialist), Mike Skilton (Minor works and Smoke Control System Specialist), Matt Grice, Ryan Meloy and Rory Eaton-Belton.

Our passive works team is led by Anthony Chapman (Passive Fire Protection Manager) with Ben Walmsley (RES Carpenter), John Grice and George Webb specialising in Fire door maintenance, installation of new door sets, compartmentation and fire stopping.

Fire risk assessment services are provided by Mark O’Halloran, supported by Stephen Flint with consultancy services provided by Carl Stokes.

Steve Crawford of Advantage Fire Training and Alan Palmer of FIRE Ltd provide our staff fire safety training services.
